New Study by Prof. Nirit Soffer-Dudek: Memory & Self-Concept in Relation to Maladaptive Daydreaming

Take part in the first causal study on maladaptive daydreaming!

Until now, almost all research on maladaptive daydreaming has been correlational — showing associations but unable to answer the key question of cause and effect. The Consciousness and Psychopathology Lab, led by Prof. Nirit Soffer-Dudek, is now conducting the first experimental study designed to test whether maladaptive daydreaming can directly contribute to difficulties with memory and self-concept.

What is it and who can participate?

We invite English-speaking adults aged 18 and older to participate in this important online study. Participation is completely anonymous, takes about 40 minutes, and includes questionnaires and a few brief tasks.

Why Your Participation Matters

Your involvement will make a real difference. For the first time, researchers are moving beyond correlations to explore the possible causes behind the struggles associated with maladaptive daydreaming.

By taking part, you’ll help advance scientific understanding and recognition of this under-researched experience.

At the end of the study, you’ll also receive a brief explanation of its hypotheses.
