A Conference on Maladaptive Daydreaming in Catania, Sicily (Italy)

On February 28th, a conference on Maladaptive Daydreaming (MD) will be held in Catania at the Policlinico G. Rodolico, organized in collaboration with Maladaptive Daydreaming Italia.

The event will be conducted mainly in Italian.

The conference will feature scholars from universities and psychiatry experts who will contribute to discussions on Maladaptive Daydreaming. These professionals will provide valuable insights into the latest research and clinical perspectives, helping to deepen understanding of MD and its impact on mental health.

Prof. Somer’s talk

The conference will include a remote participation by Professor Eli Somer, our leading expert on MD. Professor Somer will present evidence-based perspectives on MD as a potential dissociative disorder. He will discuss the scientific foundations supporting this view, exploring how MD relates to dissociation and its implications for mental health professionals.

His lecture aims to enhance the understanding of MD’s underlying mechanisms and promote informed clinical practices.

The Role of Communities

Valeria Franco, President of Maladaptive Daydreaming Italia and a board member of the International Association for Maladaptive Daydreaming, will give a presentation on the role of associations and online communities in raising awareness about MD and building support structures. Her talk will emphasize the importance of community involvement in understanding and managing MD.

This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about the latest research, connect with professionals, and engage in meaningful discussions about MD.
